Levittown Man Arrested for Morning DWI
Gary Haas, 43, of Prairie Lane, was caught intoxicated on the Southern State Parkway.
It was an eventful start to the week for Levittown resident Gary Haas, 43, when he was arrested on the Southern State Parkway just after 11 a.m. Monday.
Haas, of Prairie Lane, was driving his blue Chrysler eastbound on the Southern State Parkway near the Hempstead Avenue exit when Trooper Mangas saw him talking on his cell phone, the New York State Police reported.
When Haas was pulled over, Mangas noticed a strong alcoholic odor and subjected the driver to sobriety tests, which he failed, police said.

Haas provided a positive breath sample of .08 percent Blood Alcohol Content and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and traffic violations. He will be in Nassau County First District Court on Feb. 4 at 9 a.m.
