What happens when a 10 to 17-year-old youth is arrested? What can the child expect? What can the parents do? Join the Levittown Community Council on Monday, January 23 at 7:30 PM when Attorney and Family Law Practitioner Lewis C. Edelstein speaks to the community on the subject of Juvenile Offenders and the Law and discusses the arraignment process.
Although most juvenile crimes are similar to those for adult offenders, the penalties and laws associated with juvenile crimes are substantially different.
Areas sure to be covered may include citation, detention, what is an arraignment, how long a child can be held in custody, what kind of representation is needed, what penalties can be imposed.
This important meeting will take place in the culinary arts room (Panther Room) of the Levittown Memorial Education Center. All are welcome to attend.
