Together We Can Make A Difference

Tammy Mayer teaches Art at Mac Arthur High School in Levittown.  She has been teaching in the district for over 25 years.  Every year for Autism Awareness Month she takes on a project and tries to make it school wide, to promote awareness and kindness.  This year her vision was to cut out over 1400 puzzle pieces (puzzle pieces are the symbol for Autism) and have each student in the school sign a puzzle piece and write something inspirational on the piece.  She then linked all the pieces together throughout the entire school, including up and down stairways, etc.  It is quite a sight to behold, and the messages the children wrote are quite special.   Vision complete, job well done!
