The Levittown Community Council will be discussing consumer rights at its next meeting on Monday, January 27. The meeting will be held from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Levittown Public Library Community Room, One Bluegrass Lane, Levittown.

Joining the Council at the general meeting is guest speaker Ken Heino from the Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs.

The Office of Consumer Affairs offers a variety of services to Nassau County and its residents, such as handling consumer complaints, identity theft, and the social host law,  the Community Council said in a release.

"Its mission is to protect consumers and businesses from fraudulent enterprises and business practices; enhance consumer safety; strictly enforce consumer legislation; support competitive business practices, improve internal service delivery; provide consumer education and information; strengthen the consumer voice and enhance the quality of life in the Nassau County community."

The meeting is open to the public and there is no fee to attend.
