Joining the Council at the general meeting is guest speaker Ken Heino from the Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs.
The Office of Consumer Affairs offers a variety of services to Nassau County and its residents, such as handling consumer complaints, identity theft, and the social host law, the Community Council said in a release.
"Its mission is to protect consumers and businesses from
fraudulent enterprises and business practices; enhance consumer safety;
strictly enforce consumer legislation; support competitive business practices,
improve internal service delivery; provide consumer education and information;
strengthen the consumer voice and enhance the quality of life in the Nassau
The meeting is open to the public and there is no fee to attend.
