New Members Inducted into MacArthur HS National Math Honor Society

Story by Elizabeth Sobel, Syntax.

Thirty-four top mathematics students from Levittown’s MacArthur High School were inducted into the Mu Alpha Theta Chapter of the National Mathematics and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society during a ceremony in the school’s auditorium.

These bright students were selected based on a cumulative grade point average of 90 percent, involvement in peer tutoring and enrollment in upper-level math courses for college credit.

Advisers Joanna Dillon and Cynthia Fasano congratulated the young mathematicians for having accomplished this goal.

“You are among the best and brightest at MacArthur High School, and I hope that each of you continues on this road to success,” Fasano said.

Hempstead Town Councilman Gary Hudes also bestowed certificates of commendation to each of the inductees and reminded the students that this will be only one of many accomplishments they will achieve in the future.
