Photos: Hurricane Irene Hits Levittown

The local area experienced lasting damage from Hurricane Irene.

Hurricane Irene swept through Levittown late Saturday into Sunday. Fortunately, damage was not as severe as expected, but residents and businesses were left with lasting impacts through Sunday afternoon.

Several Levittown Patch reporters roamed the streets of Levittown to take photos of downed trees and street lights without power in the area. More will be added as time progresses.

LIPA is currently reporting outages in 7,092 Levittown homes of 17,358 served, as of 4:19 p.m..
