September Events at the Levittown Public Library

A list of what's happening this month at the library.

With the start of fall comes all new events and programs to take part in at the Levittown Public Library.

Exhibits:

  • Sept. 4 through Sept. 28: Exhibit and Display: Long Island Mobile Amateur Radio Club 

AARP Driver Safety Program:

  • Sept. 6 at 9:30 a.m.: Save on insurance and become a better driver with the AARP Driver Safety Program taking place at the Levittown Public Library. Registration for AARP members costs $17 while non-members pay $19. Fee and registration is required.
  • Sept. 21 at 9:30 a.m.: Save on insurance and become a better driver with the AARP Driver Safety Program taking place at the Levittown Public Library. Registration for AARP members costs $17 while non-members pay $19. Fee and registration is required.

Ive Lane Players Adult Theatre Group:

  • Sept. 7 at 7:30 p.m.: The Ivy Lane Platers will perform "Game Playing", three one-act plays at the Levittown Public Library. No fee is required but tickets are mandatory for attendance.
  • Sept. 8 at 7:30 p.m.: The Ivy Lane Platers will perform "Game Playing", three one-act plays at the Levittown Public Library. No fee is required but tickets are mandatory for attendance.
  • Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m.: The Ivy Lane Platers will perform "Game Playing", three one-act plays at the Levittown Public Library. No fee is required but tickets are mandatory for attendance.
  • Sept. 15 at 7:30 p.m.: The Ivy Lane Platers will perform "Game Playing", three one-act plays at the Levittown Public Library. No fee is required but tickets are mandatory for attendance.

Adult Book Discussion:

  • Sept 10 at 1:00 p.m.: Discuss "The Paris Wife" by Paula McLain with moderator Fran Cohen and other local booklovers.
  • Sept. 18 at 7:00 p.m.: Discuss "Plot Against America" by Phillip Roth with local readers and share your thoughts.

Zumba Classes:

  • Sept. 13 at 7 p.m.: Sign up early before classes fill up. Zumba will take place every Thursday at 7 p.m. through mid-October.
  • Sept. 20 at 7 p.m.: Sign up early before classes fill up. Zumba will take place every Thursday at 7 p.m. through mid-October.
  • Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.: Sign up early before classes fill up. Zumba will take place every Thursday at 7 p.m. through mid-October.

Baby and Me Time:

  • Sept. 14 at 10 a.m.: Children 4 months through 18 months and their parents are invited for quality time at the library. No fee or registration required.
  • Sept. 28 at 10 a.m.: Children 4 months through 18 months and their parents are invited for quality time at the library. No fee or registration required.

Teen Game Club:

  • Sept. 14 at 3:30 p.m.:Relax and have fun in the Teen Lounge by playing Wii or board games after school. No fee or registration required.
  • Sept. 25 at 3:30 p.m.:Relax and have fun in the Teen Lounge by playing Wii or board games after school. No fee or registration required.

Adult Game Club:

  • Sept. 19 at 10 a.m.: There are tables available to meet and play cards, checkers, mahjong, and any other table game for fun.  Tables are on a first-come, first-served basis. Join a group or bring your own players.  Please bring your own game supplies. No fee or registration required.
  • Sept. 26 at 10 a.m.: There are tables available to meet and play cards, checkers, mahjong, and any other table game for fun.  Tables are on a first-come, first-served basis. Join a group or bring your own players.  Please bring your own game supplies. No fee or registration required.

Singles Discussion and Support Group:

  • Sept. 21 at 7:00 p.m.: Share experiences and thoughts with fellow divorced, widowed, and single people. Marla Matthews is a TV talk show host, Social Worker, and Life Coach and she will facilitate these discussions. No fee. Registration required.

Feature Film in the Community Room:

  • Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.: Enjoy a special presentation of "The Iron Lady" early in the day or later in the evening at the Levittown Public Library. Rated PG-13. No fee or tickets are required.

Craft and Gift Fair at Veterans Memorial Park:

  • Sept. 30 at 10 a.m.: Treat yourself to something special or perhaps get a head start on your holiday shopping, either way it’s for a great cause. Admission and parking are free. Pay-one-Price inflatable rides. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Levittown Library Foundation. Vendors can contact (516) 442-6000 for details.
