Weekend Planner: Island Trees 'Light the Night' and Operation Rebuild Hope Event

TGIF Levittown! Levittown Patch has put together a list of great ways to unwind this weekend and get involved in the community.

Here's a look at what's going on in and around town:

Island Trees "Light the Night" - This community event takes place on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. Meet at Island Trees Memorial Middle School to enjoy free cookies, cocoa, and a community sing-along. Sponsored by the Island Trees council of PTA's.

MacArthur HS Cheerleading Competition - On Saturday at MacArthur HS there will be a cheerleading competition, with registration starting at 8 a.m. for medium varsity. The first competition begins at 10 a.m. with medium varsity, while medium junior varsity competes at 12 p.m. and small varsity at 2 p.m.

Nightlife in Levittown - There are plenty of fun things to do in Levittown this weekend! Check out some ideas here.

Breakfast Bowling With Santa - On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Levittown Lanes, you can enjoy two hours of Glow Bowling with holiday music, a bagel with cream cheese, juice and coffee, all for $40 a lane (up to 6 people). You can even bowl with Santa!

Operation Rebuild Hope - "A fun filled, free of charge, family day of giving!" Bring your Holiday Gift donations of either a $10 gift card or a small wrapped present this Saturday, Dec. 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bethpage Assembly of God Church (362 Stewart Ave. Bethpage).

"Help us meet our goal of providing at least one gift to every student in the Island Park School district. This unique event is also designed to provide on site resources to those in need, collect donations (appliances, gift cards, etc), and give families a fun event.

There will be a children station with free face painting, Santa Claus for a FREE photo-op, live music, food, drinks and an opportunity to give. All children who bring a donation will receive a free goodie bag from Santa."
