Associated Brokerage Center Takes Pride in Loyal Service

September marked 43 years in business for Steven Philmus, a lifelong resident of Long Island and founder of Levittown's Associated Brokerage Center.

According to Philmus, Vice President of the Levittown Chamber of Commerce, the staff at Associated Brokerage Center takes pride in personable, quality insurance services that have generated a loyal clientele over the last four decades.

"This is a people business, and I like to help people," said Philmus, a native of neighboring Seaford. "I like to give people the right coverage and save them money. It's a rewarding experience.

"We cover from birth to death and everything in between," he added. "We build a client base and hopefully keep that forever. Since I've been in business, we've retained about 90 percent of our clients over a long stretch of time."

Associated Brokerage Center specializes in insurance for every phase of life including automobile, homeowners, flood, motorcycle, small business, general liability, disability income, health and individual life insurance policies.

"We fill important needs, to make people safe," Philmus explained. "People need insurance in case something life-changing happens. Young people buy life insurance because they don't have accumulated assets yet. You need health insurance if you take a trip to the emergency room. In New York, you need insurance to buy a car."

Philmus hopes that the loyal business practices that's bought Associated Brokerage Center such success will continue for long to come.

"Some people shop just for price and those people come and go," he said. "That's not my niche. My niche is a value added concept. If I'm not doing the right job to serve you, then I don't deserve to have you as a client."
