15th Annual Lazy Days of Summer Set for July 7

Preparations are underway for the event.

Free games, entertainment and activities throughout the day are in the planning stages as the Levittown Community Council makes arrangements for the 15th annual Lazy Days of Summer event, to be held on Saturday, July 7.

Deejay Tim Aldrich and the demonstration team of Kempo Martial Arts are ready to entertain; sponsors like Astoria Federal Savings, DeTolla & DeTolla Dental, Fred Form Accountant, Main Street Financial, Little Gym, Domenico’s Restaurant and Dr. Perry Mollick are on board helping to underwrite various activities; and local merchants like King Kullen, Stop & Shop and Best Yet have committed to donations of special treats.

As always, the event is open to the public and is entirely free. Participants are asked to bring chairs and/or a blanket, a picnic lunch and a desire to relax and enjoy a leisurely day. Volunteers to assist with set up, take down and activities are always appreciated. Community service acknowledgements for students, scouts and confirmands are given.

Community Council organization members are invited to set up tables to inform the public about their groups. Sponsors may also set up tables at the event which attracts more than 600 people each year. Additional sponsorships from local businesses are available.

The Levittown Community Council was established in 1998 and brings together residents and community organizations. Membership in the Council is $10 for individuals, $15 for families and $50 for organizations. For additional membership information, contact Steve Dalton at 516-796-5031.

For information, to volunteer or to inquire about sponsorships, please contact Mauro or Louise Cassano at 516-796-3392 or 516-735-5901 or by e-mail at levittowncouncil@yahoo.com.
