Ford Escape Hunger Drive Makes Stop in Levittown

Nationwide sweepstakes is donating meals to Feeding America.

Ford and Feeding America have partnered to fight against the hunger epidemic burdening millions of children, adults and seniors across the country.

The 2013 Ford Escape sweepstakes made a stop in Levittown Tuesday evening at the South Levittown Lanes where more than 40 contestants took a shot at a new car.

For each entry, Ford will donate eight meals to Feeding America, and the winner will be announced in January.

Ford product specialist Eric Olton has traveled across the east coast since July recruiting contestants in the company's efforts against hunger relief.

"There's a lot of people in our country that go days without having a meal, children and whole families," said Olton. "We always think of hunger as an issue overseas but it's really afflicting us here in the United States."

Ford is also encouraging people around the country to sign up and host their own events for the drive against hunger in which a product specialist will attend. No donations are necessary, as Ford will give away eight meals for each guest in attendance.
