Coming Soon in Levittown: New Drive-Through Starbucks

Former Rayco4 building demolished; construction to begin shortly.

The vacant Rayco4 building was recently knocked down and will soon be replaced by a brand new drive-through Starbucks.

A special exception to demolish the vacant building on Hempstead Turnpike and build the new location was approved by the Town of Hempstead Board of Zoning Appeals in July.

With the building cleared, construction on the Starbucks should begin by the end of this year or by early next year, said Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray.

Murray said that the Town is very happy to have the new business arrive.

“Generally, Starbucks as a corporation is known as a clean business, an attractive business,” she said. “And people can’t get enough coffee...it will be very convenient as it’s situated near the Wantagh Parkway. It’s a win-win for that area.”

Murray said that from the Town’s understanding, the Starbucks at 3240 Hempstead Tpke. will remain open.

The Rayco4 building had closed after the company moved next door to the gas station.
