Dots Clothing Store to Open in Nassau Mall

Women's fashion shop will host their grand opening June 14.

Affordable fashion trends are hard to come by, but Dots women's clothing store has tried to defy those odds for more than two decades, and their newest location is opening up right in Levittown.

Founded in 1987, Dots caters to women sizes 0-24 for fashion needs of any kind, whether shoppers are looking for something suited for a career or nightclub, or the latest in footwear.

The Levittown location is slated to open on June 14 in the Nassau Mall between Kohls and AMC Loews Multiplex. Levittown Chamber of Commerce President Dean Baer was pleased to see a new store come to the area.

"I'm always happy to see businesses opening up in Levittown," Baer said. "That whole shopping center, from Dunkin' Donuts to LA Fitness, is growing at full speed. It's a great spot right now."

Baer said the empty storefronts in Levittown had become a problem in recent years and with the help of the Town of Hempstead and Chamber of Commerce, they hoped to bring business back to life. With several new businesses in the Nassau Mall alone, Baer feels a change is starting to come.

"We're trying to get all the empty businesses in Levittown full," he explained. "We want business to stay here and grow here. We want people to shop here. There are so many people in Levittown that live here but don't shop here. It's crazy. New businesses opening - this is what we need for our community."
