Sabor a Colombia Brings Dynamic Flavor to Town

Division Ave. eatery serves up tasty South American dishes.

At Sabor a Colombia, diners can indulge in a flavor unlike any other in Levittown.

Open since December 2009, Sabor a Colombia guarantees consistent quality at a great price. A crowd of regular patrons often visit the Division Ave. establishment for breakast, lunch and dinner, or even a relaxing cocktail after work.

A vibrant, friendly atmosphere can make customers both new and old feel right at home. The tasteful yellow walls in the dining room are dotted with bright figures and paintings, while the small bar area is decorated in rich wood and flat screen televisions.

The waitstaff at Sabor a Colombia is efficient. Orders are taken early and plates are delivered quick and hot. A bit of a language barrier could exist with some of the staff, but nothing that can't be easily resolved.

A full menu features breakfast and soups; chicken, seafood and pork platters, sizzling steak dishes and more.

For lunch and dinner, entrees are accompanied with a small garden salad. If eating light, the mixed greens are a healthy alternative to a more popular appetizer like empanadas.

The Carne Asada ($13.95) is a basic dish that never disappoints, dressing a full flavored grilled steak with your choice of white or brown rice, beans and sweet plantain.

For a more daring dish, the crowd favorite Pollo a la Brasa Entero ($9.65) serves up a full rotisserie chicken. At 3.5 pounds, most diners have trouble clearing the plate.

Another filling option is the Pargo Rojo Frito ($20.50), offering a whole fried red snapper cooked to perfection and served alongside fried green plantains and a side of rice.

Sabor a Colombia boasts a selection of natural juices along like Papaya, Marcuya (passion fruit), Mango and Pina. At the bar, frozen drinks are a popular item, including maragaritas, daiquiris and pina coladas.

On the weekends, diners can usually expect a wait at the door but early in the day or during the week, a wait is less likely.

Sabor a Colombia is open seven days per week: Sunday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
