Van Heusen in Levittown to Shut Its Doors

The clothing store is having an everything must go clearance sale and will be closed by next Monday.

The Van Heusen clothing store in Levittown is going out of business and an employee at the store confirmed that they will be closed as early as next Monday.

The clothing store is located at 3359 Hempstead Tpke., next door to Hurricane Grill & Wings and in the shopping center where the new Walmart Market will open.

Van Heusen sells reasonably priced clothing that specializes in business casual attire. They have a large selection of women's items, including blouses, dress pants, purses and jewelry. The men's section includes button downs, suit jackets, belts and dress pants, according to their website.

The store is currently having a clearance sale, with 80 percent off on all remaining items.

How do you feel about Van Heusen going out of business? Tell us in the comments below.

I for one do not want to see a WalMart in any fashion here in Levittown. Let's get some upgraded stores in our area. If we get the WalMart Supermarket, rest to sure that King Kullen, Stop & Shop or Pathmark will be closing their doors soon and I do not want to see that happen!!!

What "upgraded" stores are you looking for? Fairway choose westbury then trader joes choose both garden city and westbury for new stores while this location was available. Upgraded stores do you mean like kohls or old navy? This store closing is just another example of how Levittown doesn't or just may not be able to support these stores. Levittown is a tough location I feel for many big stores because of the proximity to the parkways. In reality you are five minutes from all major roads which bring you to all kinds of stores. We need to embrace the stores that are here. Why are you so against a Walmart market? Believe it or not the east meadow Walmart is the exception to other walmarts. The one in Uniondale and on 110 are both great stores , clean and excellent staff.

If we truly want stores to be able to thrive in Levittown they will need to create a better experience for the consumer regardless of what they sell. The town should also look into differentiating itself from other local towns so that they can bring in the consumers from local towns, encourage people to stay in and shop local and not buy as much online. It's not just the economy, it's a lifestyle paradigm shift that's needed. Look at Starbucks, they are always busy. Create an experience and they will come.

Competition is good for the consumer, Marie. Do not judge Walmart by the disgusting East Meadow store. Their prices will foster competition among the supermarkets.

nothing will change here too many people living in 1950, another cvs a bigger one at that, why do we need another cvs they should have built condos there plenty of space, make levittown more modern, instead of always blocking everything

even a 55 an older community would have been nice, for the seniors living here who can't and don't want to take care of a house anymore, keep the young single people here who don't wanna leave long island with a condo community but noooo another cvs when theres 2 a mile away from that one kate murrary another great job

I Agee ... Levittown needs a major revitalization project to be a town that is consistent with the modern era. It's a great town with so much possibility.

Joe and Bill are correct. They add a few streetlights, fix a sidewalk and call it a downtown renewal. Then they hold a press conference and tell us how great it is that they got this done. Samr thing was done in Wantagh; big deal. The one renewal that is nice is the one in Bellmore, but lo and behold, Hudes' jewelry store is on one of those blocks. Murray and Hudes are going to be the death of Levittown if they don't bring in some real development, without birthday cards.

does anyone know why all the houses on wantagh ave south of hempstead turnpike are getting new sidewalks? i thought the homeowner was responsible for the sidewalk on front of their home. is this part of the downtown restoration?
