The New York Law Journal has published its list of Top New York Jury Verdicts for 2013 and cited Carol L. Schlitt for two of the top verdicts in New York. Carol L. Schlitt was one of the few attorneys to have more than one case listed among the top verdicts in New York. 

The $4.9 million verdict obtained in the case Sweeney v. Oakes (Nassau 601010/11) ranked as the largest verdict in an assault case in New York State.  In that case, Attorney Schlitt represented a nurse who had been viciously attacked by a psychiatric patient. “We worked for years on this case in an effort to bring justice to our client and to stand up for all nurses and medical professionals who face threats every day on their jobs.”

Ms. Schlitt obtained a $336,000 verdict in Newark v. Pimental (Bronx 252256/08), a pedestrian knockdown case that ranked as one of the best pedestrian verdicts in New York.
