A second story house fire that was extinguished by the Levittown Fire Department on Monday morning is being deemed suspicious and is currently under investigation.
Firefighters and Nassau County Police responded to a 911 call for smoke coming from a bedroom of a Cooper Lane home at 8:35 a.m. Units found smoke showing upon their arrival and a fire in the second story bedroom.
Firefighters then stretched one hose line to the second floor and extinguished the fire that was contained to the bedroom.
The Fire Marshal was called to investigate, and the Town of Hempstead Building Department was also notified for multiple apartments in the home, according to firefighters.
No injuries were reported and Chief of the Department Scott Fisher was in command.
