1) The Nassau Lionel Operators will hold another in Levittown this weekend in the basement of 2953 Hempstead Tpke. Come see their new layout, complete with holiday-themed models. Open houses are tonight at 8 p.m. and tomorrow at 1 p.m.
2) in Wantagh will host tonight. First up is a group of songwriters from Herricks High School, who will perform at 6:30 p.m. Young songwriter Charlie Dane will perform at 8:30 p.m. while veteran singer/songwriter Rorie Kelly will perform at approximately 9:30 p.m.
3) Assistance for veterans is available at the new Nassau County Veterans Resource Center at 197 Maple Ave in Rockville Centre. The center will assist veterans, especially those who just returned from Iraq and Afghanistan.
4) If you're looking for some live entertainment this weekend, at in Levittown every Saturday starting at 5:30 p.m.
5) Expect temperatures to head south this weekend. The high temperature, according to the National Weather Service, will be 52 degrees today. Saturday, however, sees a high of just 45, with a low overnight of 29. Sunday's high temperature is projected to be 43 degrees.
