Football Preview: MacArthur Faces Wantagh in Semifinals

The MacArthur HS football team is one win away from a trip to the Nassau County finals. 

The No. 2 Generals are coming off a 22-16 win over Elmont in the conference II quarterfinals and will square off against No. 3 Wantagh at Hofstra Saturday, 10 a.m.

The winner of this game will then face the winner of No. 1 Garden City and No. 4 Carey in the finals. 

In their previous matchup on Sept. 15, Wantagh (6-2) topped MacArthur (7-1)  by a score of 21-14. 

In the quarterfinals win against Elmont, the Generals (7-1) were led by quarterback Gerard Cunningham, who threw for 160 yards and a touchdown, and running back Tom Kelleher, who ran for 159 yards and two touchdowns.
