The Island Trees HS Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Leiann McGrory, and the Island Trees HS Chorus, under the direction of Susan Oliveto, performed at the Levittown Chamber of Commerce Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony held at the Town of Hempstead Veterans Memorial Park on Monday, Dec. 3.

Both groups performed holiday hits such as “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”, “Silver Bells”, “Frosty The Snowman”, “Let It Snow”, “Sleigh Ride”, and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, as well as traditional Christmas Carols such as “Deck the Halls”, “O Little Town Of Bethlehem”, “Angels We Have Heard On High”, and “We Three Kings of Orient Are”.

This traditional, outdoor event included choral and instrumental performances from neighboring schools, dance company performances, a visit from Santa Claus, and the lighting of the holiday tree.

Bringing the community together to start the holiday season, it was a wonderful evening enjoyed by all.
