The Island Trees girls varsity volleyball team recently held its first annual “Dig Pink” event.

The event packed the stands with family, friends and staff to help raise money for The Side Out Foundation – Breast Cancer Awareness charity.  The volleyball team sold baked goods and pink t-shirts to help raise money for this very worthy cause.

A grand total of $300 was raised and the night was a smashing success.  Island Trees also beat  Wheatley in three straight sets and brought their record to 12-1.

The team plans to continue to raise awareness for breast cancer during the month and continue to host “Dig Pink” events every season.
