Island Trees HS Drama Students Attend Adelphi's 15th Annual Fall Arts Conference

A number of talented students from Island Trees recently attended the Adelphi University Fall Arts Conference.

Island Trees HS Drama students along with their drama teacher Mrs. Leiann McGrory recently attended the Adelphi University Fall Arts Conference.

Adelphi’s Arts Conference provides talented performing arts students the opportunity to participate in intensive hands-on workshops in dance, music, and theatre.

The students experienced Adelphi’s new 53,000 square-foot Performing Arts Center-AU PAC, which, situated around the newly renovated Olmstead Theatre, has all new teaching, practice and performance spaces that include a state-of-the-art concert hall, recital hall, and black box theatre.  

At the end of the workshop sessions, the students heard a keynote address from performing artist Christine Ebersole who won a Tony Award in 2001 for the Broadway revival “42nd Street” and again for her dual role in the 2006 musical “Grey Gardens."  

Students who attended are:  Kathryn Gunderson, Arielle Herguth, Jessica King, Samantha Koenig, Melissa Rorech, Wendy Yackavage.
