LIPA Sheds Light on Remaining Power Outages in Levittown

LIPA officials on Sunday responded to inquiries from Patch regarding outstanding power outages remaining in Levittown going on nearly two weeks post Hurricane Sandy.

"The Levittown area's damage was due to a lot of high winds, trees coming down and trees knocking primary wires to the ground," said Nick Lizanich, Vice President of Operations at LIPA.

As of 9:20 p.m. Sunday night, 3,644 customers remain without power in Levittown. That's down from nearly 4,400 on Saturday afternoon.

"We have over 120 locations of damage remaining," Lizanich said."We do have over 100 line crews in the area working today in Levittown and neighboring Hicksville."
