LIPA officials on Sunday responded to inquiries from Patch regarding outstanding power outages remaining in Levittown going on nearly two weeks post Hurricane Sandy.

"The Levittown area's damage was due to a lot of high winds, trees coming down and trees knocking primary wires to the ground," said Nick Lizanich, Vice President of Operations at LIPA.

As of 9:20 p.m. Sunday night, 3,644 customers remain without power in Levittown. That's down from nearly 4,400 on Saturday afternoon.

"We have over 120 locations of damage remaining," Lizanich said."We do have over 100 line crews in the area working today in Levittown and neighboring Hicksville."

if it wasnt for my neighbor seeing lipa trucks on wolcott standing around, because they had no poles left, she begged them to come to sherwood rd and they did, found the blown trasformer in my yard and restored power to the block, lipas management sucks

Everyone should put a sign in their windows that says "Thank you all out-of-state utility workers for saving us from LIPA-PLEASE DON"TGO!!!"

hah!! i'm with Cliff!!! Thanks to all the out-of-towners that came to save the customers of LIPA...it is embarrassing and a disgrace how poorly run and unprepared our utility company was and is...especially after the Tropical Storm Irene from last year...they should have had a "PLAN!!" Maybe the next head honcho over there will get it right for future unfortunate storms? Thanks again to the crew from Boston Massachusetts, Michel's from Local 104, who worked diligently to restore power to my block who were out for 12 days!!! They were awesome!!

I agree with Cliff. LIPA is a disgrace. I must have called 50+ times and couldn't get an answer. The first time I noticed crews working here was Sunday 11/11 after being without power since 10/29. How does one join the class action lawsuit that was filed earlier this week against LIPA?
