The fundraiser helps support the MacArthur Track and Cross Country teams.
MacArthur High School's Mercury
Club, which helps support the track and cross country teams, will be holding a Zumba Fundraiser with the Hofstra Dance team on Monday.
The club is connected to the dance team through a family whose oldest daughter danced on the team, and younger daughter who ran for MacArthur HS.
The money raised from the event goes directly towards the program.
"Last year alone we paid for a second jump pit, used for the long jump and triple jump," said Jeff Archer, President of the Mercury Club. "We also bought the school a complete set of hurdles and purchased a second storage container to house
track equipment."

The club has also funded entry fees for meets and help offset
expenses for overnight meets, Archer said.
Last year, the club held the
first annual Hall of Fame dinner,
where they recognized MacArthur Track Alumni - '03 graduate Sean Depuy and '07 graduate Jessica Balling were named the inaugural inductees.
The Zumba Fundraiser runs from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Levittown Memorial on Monday, Dec. 10. The cost of the fundraiser is $10, and the club is also requesting participants bring an unwrapped toy, which will be donated to the
John Thiessan annual toy drive.
