Mobile Command Center to Help Levittown Sandy Victims Tuesday

Senator Kemp Hannon (R-Nassau) has announced that the NYS Department of Financial Services will be sending representatives to Levittown Tuesday to answer insurance questions relating to Superstorm Sandy.

A mobile command center will be located in the Levittown Mews Shopping Center (3335 Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown) on Tuesday  from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

DFS representatives will be able to meet with affected residents in the Mobile Command Center and will offer help to homeowners, renters and business owners with insurance-related issues stemming from damage caused by Sandy, the release said.

Department representatives will also help citizens contact their insurers if they have been unable to do so and answer questions about homeowners’, renters’ and business owners’ insurance coverage.

“I’m pleased to bring the DFS Van to Levittown and I thank the Governor and DFS for making it available,” Hannon said in the release. “Even if you can’t make it to the mobile command center in person, you can still contact DFS for assistance.”

Citizens who are unable to go to the Mobile Command Center are encouraged to call the Department’s Storm Hotline at 800-339-1758 between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on weekends.

Insurance information is also available on the Department’s website, www.dfs.ny.gov.
