Nov. 14: Free Flu Vaccines, Save Seaford Sports Deal, MoveOn.org Protest

1) Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray and Councilman Gary Hudes will be visiting the Levittown Senior Center at 555 N Newbridge Rd today at 11:15 a.m. to available to senior citizens as part of the town's flu vaccination program.

2) Assemblyman Michael A. Montesano will be hosting an event dedicating the Northern State Parkway as "" tonight at 320 S Broadway in Hicksville. The dedication was signed into law by Gov. Andrew Cuomo on August 4.

3)  in Wantagh is asking customers this week if they would like to donate $1 to Save Seaford Sports, an organization  to raising the necessary $141,000 needed to restore cut  winter and spring athletic teams. At the end of the fundraiser this week, Iavarone Bros, located in the Cherrywood Shopping Center on 1166 Wantagh Ave., will match what what was collected for the cause. 

4) Activist website MoveOn.organd Gardiners Avenue. The protest is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. Read Patch's story .

5) Sports Recap: On Saturday, the MacArthur girls soccer team topped Ward Melville to win the Class AA girls soccer championship. Patch's recap is . and girls volleyball lost in their respective Long Island championship games Sunday, while Wantagh football was a winner in their Conference II . MacArthur will play Brockport in the state semifinals Saturday night, while Wantagh will play Garden City in the Nassau County championship game Friday.

Just an update to date we have raised $750 dollars once we reach the first $1000 Shelly will haveRead More her first surgery to correct her right leg then 8 - 12 weeks later hopefully the funds will be available to correct her left leg
