The Week Ahead: Fire Commissioner Election, LPOA and BOE Meetings

The fire commissioner elections are Tuesday night from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Monday

MacArthur Track Team to Hold Zumba Fundraiser - MacArthur High School's Mercury Club, which helps support the track and cross country teams, will be holding a Zumba Fundraiser with the Hofstra Dance team on Monday.

The event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Levittown Memorial on Monday, Dec. 10. Check out the story here for more info.

Tuesday

Fire Commissioner Elections - Elections for fire commissioners will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 11. In Levittown, Timothy J. Courtney is running unopposed for re-election. Voting takes place from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the firehouse, located at 120 Gardiners Ave. Please check back with us Monday evening for more info. on the election.

LPOA Meeting - The Levittown Property Owner's Association holds their monthly meeting Tuesday, 7:30 p.m. at the Levittown Library Bluegrass entrance.

The association will be taking nominations for those seeking to run for office, and will discuss traffic lights on Hempstead Tpke. and the Zwanger Pesiri building, which does not have a date set on breaking ground on their new building (former Israeli community center) but expects to have a foundation permit in the near future, according to the LPOA meeting agenda.

Wednesday

Levittown BOE Meeting - The Levittown Board of Education will hold a regular meeting Wednesday night, 7:30 p.m. at Levittown Memorial. This meeting will be devoted to reports from the Superintendent of Schools and Board Members, regular agenda items of old and new business and schedules, according to the agenda.
