3. Levittown Neighborhood Watch Group Aims to Curb Crime

Community watch group "Levit Watch" visited the Levittown Community Council's meeting this week. Chris Holder, a resident and organizer of the group, spoke about how and why the group was started and how residents can get involved.

2. Tie between and Levittown Man Places Top 3 in New Orleans Bodybuilding Competition

Levittown Patch acknowledged the accomplishments of two outstanding natives this past week.

Tom Sutch, a '02 graduate of Division Avenue High School, has once again been selected to participate in the Long Island International Film Expo (LIIFE). Sutch's short film, The Guilty Party, will be screened at the Bellmore Movies on the expo’s opening night: Thursday, July 12, at 7:45 p.m.

On a different field, but equally impressive, was Levittown native Matt Acton, who traveled to New Orleans this past weekend to compete in the Greater Gulf States Bodybuilding, Figure, Bikini and Physique Championship. Acton took third place overall in the competition.

1. Woman Injured in Hempstead Turnpike Hit-and-Run

A 28-year-old woman was injured after being struck by a car on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown Monday night. Police said the woman was walking in front of the Tri-County Flea Market when she was hit by a dark sedan at 10:30 p.m. which fled the scene.
