3. Red Mango to Open in Levittown Saturday - A representative of Red Mango confirmed that the Levittown location would open on Saturday, Sept. 1, after facing several setbacks. This store is the second location for a franchise owner who just opened a Red Mango store in Selden, and it will be a self-serve format.

2. Hurricane Irene Anniversary - The storm swept through Levittown a year ago, causing extensive damage. Residents endured flooding, downed trees, power outages and damaged homes. Check out the Hempstead Town and Nassau County Tally for how much damage was caused.

1. Crocus Lane Hearing Pushed Back to Oct. 3 - The Town of Hempstead confirmed Thursday that the Sept. 4 public hearing on the Crocus Lane Estates has been adjourned until Wednesday, Oct. 3. The town said that not enough community members would be able to attend the hearing and others need more time to gather information.
