While you may be looking to have a little fun this weekend and relax, there is also a great chance to give back to the community.
A 3-on-3 basketball tournament being held this weekend will financially benefit Bobby Nagelberg as his family deals with the extraordinary costs associated with his surgery and treatment for a brain tumor.
Nagelberg grew up playing basketball at St. Bernard’s Parish, playing through his senior year in high school. In Bobby’s last semester at Suffolk Community College this past January, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
The fundraiser, hosted by St. Bernard’s Basketball, is a three-day 3-on-3 tournament. The "Backin' Bobby" tournament takes place Friday 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the St. Bernards CYO Gym, located at 3100 Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown.
Although the deadline for team registration has passed, you can still make it down to the gym to lend your support. For more info, please contact Bob Thomas at 516-382-0382 or email GolfBob56@aol.com
