Levittown Resident to Be Honored at Go Red For Women Luncheon

The American Heart Association recently announced that Levittown resident Carmelina Oliveira, President of Oliveira Contracting, Inc. will be honored at the American Heart Association’s 13th Annual Long Island Go Red For Women Luncheon.

This year’s event will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

"As honoree, Carmelina Oliveira has made a commitment to support and create awareness about heart disease and stroke especially as it pertains to women," the American Heart Association said in a release. "After having witnesses her husband work in construction for all of their marriage, Carmelina developed a strong interest in the industry."

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women—killing more women than all forms of cancer combined, according to the American Heart Association.

"Most women don’t notice the symptoms of heart disease until it’s too late," the release said. "That’s why heart disease has been called the silent killer. But we won’t be silent. We will Speak Red! until every women knows."
