Kiwanis Sponsors "Child to Child" Christmas Giving

The Levittown Kiwanis Club is sponsoring a program this holiday season to distribute toys to children affected by superstorm Sandy. The “child to child” program aims to have children ask Santa Claus (and their parents) to take one toy that they would receive for Christmas and have it donated to a young person who, because of the storm, would otherwise not have a Christmas this year. Under the program, the gift would be collected by Kiwanis and, partnering with St. Bernard's R.C. Church in Levittown, distribute the toys to children in the hardest hit areas of Nassau County. This unique program tries to bring children into the season of giving by having them sacrifice something that they want so that a child like them could have something to give thanks for this Christmas. Anyone interested is asked to contact Eleanor Walsh at 516-796-4189
