Papa helps Division JV down Southside 9-5.

Division JV baseball beat the South Side  Cyclones 9-5 on Monday at South Side behind Anthony Papa, who went 4-for-4 at the plate. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first, fifth, and ninth innings.

Papa also went seven innings on the mound allowing only two earned runs on nine hits while striking out eight.

Division struck first with two runs in the top of the first. South Side answered with four runs in the bottom half of the first.

Papa settled in and kept Division in the game allowing only one more unearned run.

With his defense behind him Division was able to come back and tie the game in the seventh inning. With the game still tied in the ninth, Papa drove in the go-ahead run. Division tacked on three more, taking a 9-5 lead into the bottom of the ninth.

Zach Kuller shut down Southside in the ninth for the win in relief for Division. Kuller pitched two innings and allowed no runs.
