The not-for-profit organization aims to help children achieve success in life.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island (BBBSLI) recently announced the appointment of four new board members: Kathleen Courtney, Daniel Gibbons, Thomas Slome and Kathleen Stanley.

Incorporated in 1977, BBBSLI matches "bigs" and "littles" to form "meaningful, professionally supported matches." Their mission is to provide children facing adversity with "strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever."
