Former Island Trees HS Secretary Passes Away

Alice Miley Whalen passed away on August 7, 2013 at the age of 93.

Whalen was born on Oct. 8, 1919. She was the beloved daughter of Adeline and William Miley. Raised in "Hells Kitchen" Manhattan NYC. Married 50 years to Robert J. Whalen (deceased). 

Whalen worked as a Secretary for Island Trees Schools in Levittown for 25 years, then she moved to Cape Coral in 1982. She was a member of Whiskey Creek Country Club for 20 years. Very special lady, always had a smile. Loved cats, cooking, crocheting and golf. 

Survived by Daughter Rhonda A. Christie. Had three grandchildren: JoLynn Vos, Robert J. Christie, Michael J. Christie - both boys deceased.

Had three great-grandchildren: Jessie Marie Beck, Tara Nicole Christie and Robert Michael Christie. Had three great-great grandchildren: Hailey Marie Beck, Shelby Marie Beck and Nevaeh Nicole Christie. Her favorite niece Joan Miley DeBlasio. Her favorite nephew Allen Miley and her beloved cats Tiffy and Simba.

Small Service at Hope Hospice Lehigh to be held on Saturday, August 17, 2 p.m., 1201 Wings Way, Lehigh Acres, FL.
