An NYPD sergeant from Levittown who died while on duty last Friday will be laid to rest Wednesday morning at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Ozone Park.

Police said that Sgt. Patrick Divers, 51, began to experience chest pains Friday while on duty with his Brooklyn North Narcotics team. He was immediately transported by his colleagues to nearby Woodhull Medical Center where he suffered cardiac arrest and was later pronounced dead.

A 25-year veteran of the NYPD, Divers made more than 1,000 arrests and earned 35 recognitions in his career, police said.

Divers is survived by his wife, a daughter and son. A wake was held on Monday and Tuesday at the Kenneth Chapey and Sons Funeral Home in Bethpage.
