  • Mary Eagan, 88, passed away peacefully at home in Levittown on September 30, 2013. Born in Eggenfelden, Germany on March 22, 1925 to Theresa and Herman Burger, Mary moved to New York City in 1933 at the age of eight. Mary graduated Straubenmuller Textile High School in the class of 1944. On May 28, 1949 Mary married Jack Eagan. Mary is survived by her husband Jack, daughter Ria, son Chris and granddaughters, Kelsy and Kristy. For 64 years Mary lived in Levittown. Always an active person, Mary was a pool lifeguard and then worked as a trainer for 20 years at the North Shore Health Club in Manhasset, NY. She loved to ski in Vermont (as she did on her 80th birthday), boogie board at Gilgo Beach and generally enjoyed all things outdoors. Mary loved to shop for her granddaughters, who she adored. She was an exceptional, generous, unique woman who was always ready for the next challenge - enjoying life to the fullest. Loved by all who knew her, Mary will truly be missed.
