Doris R. Connolly of Levittown passed away on September 11, 2012.
Connolly was a graduate of the L.I. College School of Nursing in 1947, and a member of the U.S. Nurse's Cadet Corp. during WWII. She was certified by library of congress for voluntary braille transcribing.
Beloved wife of the late Gerald. Devoted mother of Gerald Connolly, Jr. (Theresa Anastasio), Eileen Connolly (James Lightner), Christine Connolly Buonomo (William Buonomo), Brian Connolly (Dawn Connolly) and Matthew Connolly (Maria Chiulli Connolly).
Loving grandmother of Brian Buonomo, Daniel Buonomo, Anne Lightner Powell, the late Michael Connolly, Brad Lightner, Amanda McLarnon, Thomas Connolly, Jerry Connolly and Gavin Connolly. Also survived by six loving great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, 2786 Hempstead Tpk. Levittown, N.Y. 11756. Funeral Mass Friday 10 AM at Holy Family RC Church, Hicksville, N.Y. Interment to follow at Calverton Nationalemetery, Calverton, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to The American Lung Association would be appreciated.
