James Walker, a MacArthur grad who was hit by a car on October 16 while crossing a Bay Shore street, died Friday from his injuries at the age of 26.
Walker was a member of the MacArthur class of 2003. He went on to graduate from Boston University in 2007 and was in his final year of medical school at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine of the New York Institute of Technology.
Walker was attempting to cross Union Boulevard at Windsor Avenue on October 16 when he was struck by a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am at approximately 9:05 p.m. He was admitted to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he died Friday.
His obituary was posted on the website of Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends at the Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Home located at 603 Wantagh Ave on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. His funeral will take place on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, after which he will be interred in Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale.
