Our Budget, Our Future: A Note From Michael Pappas

Levittown Board of Education president addresses the community after the budget is passed.

To our Levittown School District community,

As president of the Levittown Board of Education, I would like to take this opportunity to offer our thanks to you, our community, our neighbors and our friends for passing this year’s school budget.

This year’s 55 percent yes vote was historically "high" for our community, yet it still means that 45 percent of our community was not completely satisfied. We see that. We understand those concerns as well.

The job of this Board of Education and that of Central Administration is to improve on that. Our commitment to you, the parent, the student, the employee and of course the taxpayer has been and always will be to provide you with the best and most efficient progressive educational system in the region. We can do that, and we are on the right path with this budget approval. This vote is an affirmation of your trust in us, and we will not let you down.

As Board president, I need to tell you how proud I am of the hard work and dedication that your elected school board officials have displayed this year, as well as the hard work and dedication of Central Administration in preparing what is undoubtedly the most difficult budget climate in our school district’s history. You can expect this dedication and commitment every year from every one of us.  We will not let you down.

On behalf of your Board of Education, I thank you for your continued support.

Michael Pappas
