A mother and her two infants were transported to a local hospital with injuries sustained in the accident.

A three-car accident on Jerusalem Ave. and Meridian Rd. in Levittown injured six people and sent a mother and her two infants to the hospital Wednesday afternoon, according to fire department officials.

The Levittown Fire Department and Nassau County Police responded and transported the woman and the two infants to Nassau University Medical Center, while the three others refused medical attention at the scene. The condition of the injured is currently unknown.

Jerusalem Ave. was closed briefly north bound while the units operated at the scene.
