BOCES Student Arrested for Punching Man in Head

The 17-year-old is being charged with assault in the incident.

A student at BOCES in Hicksville was arrested on Friday for punching a 41-year-old man in the head, according to police. 

Police said that Brandon Miranda, 17, of Elmont, while in attendance at the school, located at 111 Cantiage Rock Road, punched the victim in the right side of the head causing "swelling and substantial pain." Police said they arrested Miranda without incident at 9:40 a.m. 

Police said that the assault was not the result of the "Knockout Game" and had no further details available.

Miranda is charged with second degree assault and will be arraigned in First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
