Cops Find Man Sleeping in Car with Stolen Goods

Man burglarized store earlier that day, had stolen lottery tickets with him when cops found him.

A Levittown man was found sleeping in his car with lottery tickets he had stolen earlier in the day, reported Nassau County Police.

Officers responded to do a "well check" the Wantagh Avenue area after receiving reports of a man sleeping in a car at 8:05 a.m. Thursday. Frank Lalima, 20, of Levittown, was found sleeping in his car and, after an investigation, was found with lottery scratch-offs, a plastic lottery ticket dispensing case, and marijuana, cops said. The lottery tickets had been stolen from The Culinary Deli on Unqua Road in Massapequa earlier that day, police reported.

Lalima was taken into custody and charged with third-degree burglary, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and marijuana possession. He will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
