Cops: Levittown Man Charged with Prostitution

A Levittown man was arrested Friday for allegedly offering to perform a sex act for money on an undercover detective, cops said.

According to police, after receiving complaints regarding possible illicit sexual activity, the investigation led to Backpage and Craigslist. After responding to an ad, detectives went to the Short Lane home of Joseph Rivera, 26.

Rivera allegedly agreed to perform a sexual act on the undercover detective for an agreed upon amount of cash. He was subsequently arrested at 10:39 p.m. Friday without incident.

Rivera's charged with prostitution and his arraigned is scheduled for Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
