Cops: Woman Arrested for Stealing Doughnuts at Knifepoint From 7-Eleven

The woman allegedly demanded money from the clerk, but left with just the doughnuts.

LONG ISLAND, NY -- It looks like someone had a serious case of the munchies.

A knife-wielding woman entered 7-Eleven in Bethpage Monday morning and demanded cash but only ended up stealing a box of doughnuts, police said.

At 2:30 a.m. Monday, police said that Karma N Kargl, 34, of Westbury, entered the 7-Eleven at 4220 Hempstead Turnpike then placed a box of donuts on the counter in front of the male sales clerk. Kargl then drew a knife and demanded money, police said.

The sales clerk, however, walked away into a rear storage room at this time. Kargl then grabbed the box of donuts and exited the store with nothing else, police said.

Kargl was seen fleeing in a blue sedan east on Hempstead Turnpike. A police investigation led detectives to her residence at which time she was placed into police custody without incident. There were no injuries reported.

Kargl is charged with first degree robbery and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon. She will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday, April 30, 2013.
