Crimes Nearby: $3.8 Million Marijuana Bust, Attempted Murder Arrest

Crimes reported in Wantagh, Seaford, Massapequa and Farmingdale.

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.

Wantagh

  • On Sept. 30, at 2:03 p.m., unknown suspect(s) stole jewelry from complainant's vehicle that was parked at Tobay Beach.
Seaford
  • Edward Dispirito, 55, of Riverhead was charged along with James Ford, 70, of Seaford, with conspiracy to distribute marijuana after federal agents raided their homes. Click here for more.
  • Sometime between 8 a.m. on Sept. 15 and 4 p.m. on Sept. 29, unknown suspect(s) removed the drain plug from the hull of complainant’s boat on Somerset Drive.
Massapequa
  • Four women were arrested Saturday after performing unlicensed massages on detectives and then offering to pay them off for silence, cops said. Click here for more.
  • Sometime between 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 16 and 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 22, unknown suspect(s) stole sunglasses from the complainant's vehicle while it was parked at Shining Star Collision.
  • On Sept. 29, between 5-5:30 p.m., unknown suspect(s) broke a rear window of the complainant’s vehicle, which was parked at Burner Middle School, and removed their cell phone.
  • Sometime between 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 29 and 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 30, unknown suspect(s) removed a laptop and GPS from the complainant’s unlocked vehicle on Rockwood Avenue.
  • On Sept. 24, at 8:30 p.m., a North Amityville resident was arrested at Walmart and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Sept. 25, at 1:25 p.m., an Amityville man was arrested for shoplifting at Walmart and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Sept. 30, at 11:45 a.m., a Wyandanch woman was arrested for shoplifting at Macy's and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Sept. 30, at 4:07 p.m., an Oakdale man was arrested at Macy's for shoplifting and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Sept. 26, at 2:37 a.m., Tony Schaller, 44, of Islip, was arrested at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Old Sunrise Highway and charged with DWI and a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • On Sept. 27, at 1:50 a.m., Jorge Reyes, 22, of Massapequa Park, was arrested at the intersection of Block Boulevard and Sunrise Highway and charged with DWI and a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.
  • On Sept. 28, at 6:30 p.m., Edward Sapanaro, 56, of Massapequa, was arrested on Division Avenue and charged with operating a vessel impaired by alcohol and four other violations.
  • Sometime between 9 p.m. on Sept. 27 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 28, unknown suspect(s) entered the complainant’s vehicle on Lake Shore Drive and went through the contents of the glove box. No loss and no damage was reported.
  • On Sept. 30, between 7 p.m. and 8:50 p.m., a laptop was stolen from an automobile parked on North Broadway.
Farmingdale
  • Nassau Police have charged a Farmingdale man with attempted murder in connection with a brutal attack on his father that took place on Aug. 30. Click here for more.
  • On Sept. 27, at 2:45 p.m., a burglary was reported on Feschetto Court. It's not known if anything was taken.
  • On Oct. 1, between 1-8 a.m., an automobile was ransacked on Joseph Lane.
