Wantagh
- A vehicle parked at Hemingway's Bar & Grill on 1885 Wantagh Ave. in Wantagh was damaged by unknown suspect(s) on Dec. 4.
- The window of a vehicle parked on Twisting Lane in Wantagh was reported smashed on Dec. 5.
- A home on Adams Place in Wantagh was entered into on Dec. 5 with cash, jewelry and other miscellaneous items stolen. There are no signs of forced entry.
- A catalytic converter was reported removed from a vehicle parked at the Wantagh Long Island Rail Road Station on Dec. 5.
- A vehicle was reported broken with tools removed on Riverside Drive in Wantagh on Dec. 7.
- A kidnapping phone scam was reported by a Wantagh resident on Dec. 8. Police said the scam involved an unknown male caller contacting the house in Wantagh and stating that a family member was kidnapped, held hostage or involved in an auto accident. The caller then proceeded to say that money needed to be sent through Western Union to save or help the family member. The caller threatened serious harm, police said.
- Two males were seen breaking the back of a vehicle on Demott Avenue in Wantagh on Dec. 8 and removing tools.
- A man on Locust Avenue in Wantagh reported on Dec. 10 that holiday decorations were stolen from his front lawn.
- On Dec. 5, a woman reported that her driver's license removed from her handbag after she left it in a shopping cart.
- Police are searching for a man who carjacked a 72-year-old man on Hempstead Turnpike on Dec. 10. The suspect is described as a white man, who is 25 to 30-years-old, around 220 pounds and has a mustache.
