Crimes Nearby: Teen Held Up at Gunpoint, Bank Robbery

Crimes reported in Wantagh, Seaford, Massapequa and Farmingdale.

The following information is taken directly from the Nassau County Police Department's incident reports. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime.

Wantagh

  • Sometime between 8:15 p.m. on Dec. 19 and 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 20, unknown suspect(s) slashed two tires on the complainant's vehicle parked on Merrick Road.
  • On Dec. 24, between 4-6:30 p.m., unknown suspect(s) broke the complainant's side window and removed money from the vehicle, which was parked at Lighthouse Diner.
  • On Dec. 27, unknown suspect stole the complainant's cell phone at Subway.
  • Sometime between Dec. 28 at 11 p.m. and Dec. 29 at 1 a.m., an unknown suspect stole the complainant's wristlet at Cleary’s Bar.
  • Sometime between 2 p.m. on Dec. 28 and 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 29, a vehicle was egged on Mayer Drive.

  • A drunk Queens man driving a stolen car was arrested in Seaford Friday for breaking into vehicles as well, police said. Click here for more.

Massapequa

  • Seventeen Long Islanders, including two from the Massapequa area, have been accused of unemployment insurance fraud, according to Nassau County officials. Click here for more.
  • A pair of robbers have been arrested for holding up a teen at gunpoint in Massapequa Park, Nassau County police said. Click here for more.
  • Nassau County Police are searching for two men who allegedly stole a woman's pocketbook out of a baby stroller at Sunrise Mall on Nov. 23. Click here for more.
  • On Dec. 17 at 1:07 p.m., a West Babylon woman and a Bayshore woman were arrested for shoplifting at Macy’s and charged with grand larceny.
  • On Dec. 22 at 12:50 p.m., an unknown suspect stole the victim’s wallet from Sunrise Mall.
  • Sometime between 6:20 p.m. on Dec. 20 and 6:45 p.m. on Dec. 21, unknown suspect(s) damage a vehicle’s window that was parked at Hunter Sports and removed a backpack with clothing inside.
  • At 9:02 p.m. on Dec. 22, unknown suspect(s) shattered the rear window and removed clothing and sleep apnea machine from a vehicle parked at Massapequa Funeral Home.
  • Sometime between 8 p.m. on Dec. 22 and 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 23, unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle parked at Skyline Daycare and removed money, briefcase and personal papers.
  • On Dec. 17 at 1:45 p.m., an unknown suspect removed assorted lotion, shower gels and sprays from displays from Bath and Body.
  • On Dec. 19 at 11:53 a.m., an Amityville man was arrested for shoplifting at JC Penney and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Dec. 19 at 8:14 p.m., a Melville resident was arrested for shoplifting at Macy’s and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Dec. 20 at 11:25 p.m., an Amityville teen was arrested for shoplifting at JC Penney and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Dec. 22 at 3:01 p.m., a NYC man was arrested for shoplifting at Sunrise Mall and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Dec. 22 at 5 p.m., a Wyandanch woman was arrested for shoplifting at Macy’s and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m., unknown suspect(s) keyed a vehicle at Sunrise Mall.
  • On Dec. 19 between 12 a.m. and 1 p.m., unknown suspect(s) keyed complainant's vehicle while parked at Walmart.
  • On Dec. 24, between 6-6:45 p.m., unknown suspect(s) shattered the complainant's passenger side window and removed a book from his vehicle while parked at the Massapequa Diner.
  • On Dec. 25 between 1-3:30 p.m., unknown suspect(s) removed the complainant's car keys at XSport Fitness and stole money from the vehicle.
  • On Dec. 26, between 7:30-8:40 p.m., unknown suspect(s) broke the complainant's passenger side window and removed a backpack while the vehicle was parked at XSport Fitness.
  • Sometime between 7 p.m. on Dec. 27 and 3 p.m. on Dec. 28, unknown suspect(s) removed sunglasses, pocketbook and a wallet from an unlocked vehicle on 1st Avenue.
  • On Dec. 26 at 11:28 a.m., a Huntington Station woman was arrested for shoplifting at Kohl’s and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Dec. 26 at 6:35 p.m., an Amityville woman was arrested for shoplifting at Pathmark and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Dec. 30 at 11:30 a.m., a Wantagh woman was arrested for shoplifting at Macy’s and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Dec. 30 at 7:50 p.m., a Middle Village woman was arrested for shoplifting at Kohl’s and charged with petit larceny.
  • On Dec. 26, between 8-8:30 p.m., unknown suspect(s) used an unknown object and scratched a four by three foot window at Sunrise Mall.
  • Sometime after 7:10 p.m. on Dec. 28 on Laurel Drive, unknown suspect(s) caused damage to PVC fencing.
  • On Dec. 28 between 10:30-11 a.m., unknown suspect(s) smashed the complainant’s windshield while they were parked at Sunrise Mall.

Farmingdale
