The incident occurred late Friday night; no injuries reported.

A knife-wielding suspect made away with cash after robbing the House of Yau Kitchen late Friday night.

According to Nassau County detectives, around 10:55 p.m., a 28-year-old female victim was working at the House of Yau, located at 3103 North Jerusalem Ave., when an unknown white male suspect entered into the restaurant.

The suspect displayed a knife and demanded money, police said. The suspect then fled on foot eastbound on North Jerusalem Avenue with an unknown amount of U.S. currency.

The suspect is described as being 6 feet tall, 170-180 pounds and 20-30 years of age. He was wearing jeans, dark colored sweatshirt and glasses.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

Are you guys going to be politically correct like Newsday and not describe the race of the suspect. Why not call the restaurant and actually supplement the NCPD police report.
