NEARBY: Vehicles Defaced by Swastikas in Bethpage

Vandal strikes fourteen times Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

A vandal drew swastikas on fourteen vehicles in Bethpage in what police are describing as a bias crime.

The incidents took place between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Swastikas were drawn with blue chalk on the drivers' side window of vehicles parked on nine streets.

Nassau police released a list of vehicles and where the incidents occurred. All the vehicles were in Bethpage:

  • Park Lane – 2004 GMC and 2007 Nissan Maxima
  • Whaley Avenue – 1984 Buick Lacrosse, 2004 Honda Odyssey, 2001 Dodge Durango and a 2001 Ford Mustang.
  • Columbia Street – 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche
  • Lowell Street – 2002 Volvo
  • Irving Street – 2006 Ford Taurus
  • Rose Street – 2003 Chevrolet Pickup Truck and a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu
  • Essen Place – 2000 Nissan Pathfinder
  • Roosevelt Drive – 1992 Cadillac
  • Park Lane, – 2004 Jeep
The incidents appear to be random and no permanent information was done to any of the cars.
